Frit is far more desirable than broken glass however and the discussion was about casting. Your ovens are not going to handle PYREX then and you will burn them. The 2300° fire brick is only meant to repeat at no more than 1800° on a regular basis but since you are building them you should know how to get around that limitation. I have indirect access to 80"x100" kilns but a little 30" would be nice to play around with.
