Does Anybody Realy Want A Large Blank?

Awhile back I mentioned I had connections to get a good deal on slumped 1meter PYREX blanks for less than the cost from Newport for a common blank. No one seemed interested. I now have access to a water knife and a slumping oven for a reasonable fee courtesy of a family friend of 35yrs. I also have the tenative backing to buy the $20,000 of raw glass but the backer wants proof that there is a market.

Is anybody interested in a structured light weight blank that would be precurved? These in large sizes would be much lighter than a full thickness blank yet more rigid. 20", 25", 30", 40", 45".

Also blanks in 1 ,1.5, 2 inches thick maybe thicker on special order.

Tell me what you want and what you are willing to pay.

Cheers,
