As a first mirror a 3/4" thick 10" mirror is a bit thin. For mirrors after you get it all together as to what is happening, a mirror of that thickness is no real problem. Why not find a 6" piece (you could get it from the same guy probably) and grind and polish that one out for the same Fratio and then you will have a much better idea of what things look like as you go along. It`s when you use the 3/4" for a 20" mirror that things get a bit risky and you need to start with a slumped blank.
