: Hi. How do I build a Newtonian Telescope? The "Frenchman" mentioned is most likely MSR Jean Texereau. I read his book last summer after winning a 6" mirror kit from Newport Glassworks. I have not begun grinding but his book was easy to follow and seemed to have a lot of sound advice in it. The translation to english was very well done. Don't get put off by the copyright date - the physics of mirror optics has not changed *smile*. Hope this helps- the original post seemed a little blunt. |
