I`ve recently been given a 6" mirror - on the proviso that I use it rather than let it gather dust.

I was told it had a 48"-ish focal length. I was quite pleased with the donation.

On Saturday night I stood in the back yard and reflected the moon`s image onto a wall. Imagine my surprise when I found out the focal length was more like 80"!

Cutting to the chase, how useable is this mirror and how do I make a sturdy and useable telescope with it.

help!
