: I just built my first telescope and I'm having a focusing problem. : The telescope will focus on something about 20 feet away but won't : focus on anything further than that. It has a 6" f/5 : mirror, 1.3" secondary. The tube is 8" diameter. The mirrors : are spaced 24" apart. The focuser is Orion's cheapee : for the 1.25" eyepieces. What did I do wrong? Any help will : be very much appreciated.

Your eyepiece is too far from the secondary mirror - perhaps the focuser you referred to is higher than the scope was designed for. The answer may be to get a short helical focuser that is not as tall as a rack and pinion.
