40 Grit ??

: Start with 80 grit and go through 120, 220, 600, 12 micron and 5 micron and you will have everything necessary. You may want to stop by my website article on grinding www.access1.net/bobmay/makemirror.htm as one more source of info on mirrormaking.

Robert - Is there any inherent danger with using 40 grit for the rough grinding ? I used it on an 8" plate and man it goes quick !!!
