Yes you can do so. The problem is that the lenses are rather small in aperture and the focus isn't the best as all they are required to do is to focus to about .0005" at the best as this is the approximate size of a grain of film. This means that the focus will be soft compared to an astronomical refractor. Large format lenses will, of course, be a better lens choice than any of the 35mm format lenses. The other thing that causes the soft focus is that the lenses need to do a focus over a larger area than astro lenses do.
