: Hi,

: I am looking to put a computer on my home made 10" truss tube dob.

: Has anyone used the meade Magellan on a non-meade scope ? if so, how easy was it ? if not, is this a dumb idea ? the meade looks like a good value compared to the other models out there (orion, lumicon, etc)

: Meade wouldn't give me any info on anything once I told them I was not putting it on a meade scope !

: can someone post the dimensions of the encoders ?

: thanks, jd

Forget the Magellan. Spend a little more and get one of the units made by Tangent Instruments (Celestron-Advanced Astro Master, JMI-NGC Max, Lumicon-Sky Vector, Orion-Sky Wizard etc). They can all be easily adapted to anything and the vendors don't have an attitude problem.
