: what if someone were to drill a hole in a round glass sheet in the center. : placing the glass on a ceramic flowerpot centerd upon the edges of a glass plate, with bolt in the center and everything secure the glass is heat gradualy with a torch untill it begins to reden slightly, then the bolt is carfully pulled downward into pot slightly, in order to slowly bend the glass into a paraboloid. : does anyone have any comments? Ok, I think this thought was taking an idea to an extreme,, but I do remember someplace reading about someone, that had a thin spherical mirror that was supported with a piece of indoor outdoor carpeting around it's perimeterand a bolt epoxied to the center. this bolt was tightened or lossened for a perfect figure under a star test, and could be "fine" tuned all night. so no need for expensive types of glass.. sounds interesting..
