The Meade's are worth the money. What is even better for the buck is the Edmund Scientifics RKE eyepieces. See a recent issue of Sky andTel (or was it Astronomy) for a comparision of several different eyepieces. I personally keep away from one particular type (THE PLOSSEL) which is quite popular now because as I move my eye around, I find the "kidney bean" masking when the eye is near the eyepiece is very disconcerting. Get a collection of glass and have fun. You might also try some Erfles. Remember that even a simple Double Convex (DCX) lens will work as a eyelens. As Horkhiemer says, have fun and Keep looking UP.
