: I am building a telescope to house my : 10inch mirror and associated optics. I : am thinking about a wood tube using and : eight or twelve sided configuration.

: Questions:

: How does wood behave when temperatures change?

: Are there any pitfalls to using a wood tube?

: Any success stories about wood telescopes?

: Thanks, : John

The best wood for telescopes is red cedar,it is light and very durable, the price is very good. If you have any ? please e/mail me it's what I do designing telescope tubes
