I am hoping that some of you amateur telescope makers can help me with a problem.I work on old cameras as a hobby. A common problem is degradation of the coating on the outer surface of front element of the lens. I would like to be able to set up this lens and polish it to remove just the coating, then have it recoated. I need to find a procedure to do this. My first attempt using materials I purchased from Newport GlassWorks didn't work very well and left the lens cloudy. I don't think my lap was any good. Need help.
