Since you're making an equatorial mount rather than a dob style mount, your problems are a lot less. For the RA drive, find a motor and gearing combination that will drive the RA axis at the proper rate when the AC motor is running at 60Hz. Most of the drive correctors are designed to drive 120V motors anyway from 12VDC so that's no problem. This makes it possible to use any drive corrector for the RA control. The DEC drive is pretty simple in that you merely need to be able to drive that axis back and forth and that would use a DC motor and the model railroading and car people have all kinds of motors that can be used for that. Again, the control of such a motor can be pretty simple as you need only to do what the other people do on a button pushing basis.
