Camera Lens For Eyepiece?

I got the S-Tessar, and also found a nice Zeiss Ikon Tessar camera lense f2.8, 45mm (also found the 'Zonto", Cool!). I would appreciate any input on using camera lenses for eyepieces (such as how to get the lenses out of the housing!) and making new 2" or 1 1/4" housing. I've got lots of copper and aluminum tubing in the approximate sizes necessary. The above camera lens only gives 6.6x, but is very sharp and crisp. The reason I want to convert the camera lense to 2" is so I can use other eyepieces in this scope for various mags, but for the near term, this is going to have to do. The zonto page mentions spherical abberation at high power. I assume that this is along the lines of 50x/in. aperture. Could the zonto builder enlighten me? (I didn't grok the builders name from the page.) How does it work at, say, 40x - 60x? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
