The water should release the mirror. I use a bit of dish washing detergent in the water as a wetting/bubble agent and that stuff does a good job of gluing when dry but takes the water well. I normally don't worry about leaving mirrors on top of laps because of this. It is normal for me to let a lap dry and then put it in some water for a minute or 10 and they have always slipped right off. I also keep a fair bit of Cerium Oxide on the lap which probably also helps. If you don't have any dark colored places in the contact then the lap should be off now. Just remember to keep a bit of water and Cerium Oxide on the lap from now on and when you go to do a pressing, you have to remember to put some of the mix on the mirror. The worst thing (not all that bad) is that you will have to either melt or freeze (yep, put it in the freezer where the lap will lose solid contact with the mirror and tool, put in water if you want to) the lap off and remake it.
