: A wild idea...has anybody ever consider using a PVC pipe 10"(Diam.) to build a 8"newt???? Should i just trash it??? It seems that the plastic could be deficient due to thermal problems....but compared to some fiberglass scopes that i've seen for sale the differences should not be that much......any thoughts on this???? I've got the 12" sea green pvc water main(?), planning on a 10", every time I have to move this 10' section, I consider a VERY rich field 10". I'll probably stick to a 10" f6 or 7, baffled (which I don't think will be that hard), Almost certainly permanantly mounted. Doesn't seem to be much flex, but I'm not sure about thermal characteristics. I'll keep it out of the sun till dark, and may need tube fans to expedite thermal equilibrium, but this tube is so seemingly custom that it's gonna have it's chance to shine (so to speak). Cly Roth
