M13 in Hercules is a good target. Double cluster in Perseus is a good one too. A long exposure in the Cygnus area will reveal many goodies as would the Scorpius/ Sagittarius area as well. But the big thing is Andromeda Galaxy (M31, M32 & M110 too) in Andromeda. Yeah it`s big, but it is a great target. If you are shooting through a scope use prime focus or a 26mm or larger. If you are using a SLR camera on a barn door or EQ mount, you could get some nice shots there too. Why must it be small? Ever try M81,M82 in the Big Dipper area? Have fun and good luck!!
