Hi! Um, I`m just starting to learn about astronomy, and In looking up stars and galaxies, I`ve come across the term "Messier Objects" quite often. At first I thought it was because they were messy, but I got the impression from articles that "Messier" was a person. If anyone can help me I`d be much obliged. And, If anyone knows of some web-sites or books that have information, I would really like to learn more. Thanks!

Stephanie Budge
