| Family enjoys viewing the 2012 Venus Transit event with modest equipment. Meade SCT telescope has home made filter holder with a small piece of Baader filter material. This worked very well. Three sets of solar glasses (3 for $5) rounded out this very simple and effective backyard viewing in Virginia. Clouds caused trouble most of the time, but not before everyone had a chance to see the transit with their own eyes. |
